Head Coach Steve Webb
Steve Webb enters his third season as the head men's and women's swimming and diving coach in 2017-18. He had a very successful first year, where he led the team to 2 NCAA provisional cut times, and 3 school records. Then this past season, Webb led the mens team to a 6-2 Dual Meet record on the men's team, and a 5-3 record on the woman's team. The team also broke 11 school records, and had Austin Lashley achieve All-American Status in the 100 Fly with a 3rd place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Webb, a former division 1 swimmer at Florida State, previously spent three 3 years as the head coach at Augsburg College in Minneapolis where he led the women's team to the school's three highest finishes in program history and 37 individual school records.
Prior to to his college coaching experience, Webb was a successful high school coach. He was the head boys coach at East Ridge HS for two seasons where he led them to a 17-1 dual-meet record and a Suburban East Conference Championship in 2012, and the head girls coach at Mounds ViewHS from 2010-13 where his program produced 11 NISCA All-Americans and 4 consecutive Top 6 finishes at the True Team State meet.
Webb has coached club swimming and diving in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Florida.
Webb competed collegiately at St. Louis University (2002-03) and then transferred to Florida State University where he graduated in 2007 with degrees in Applied Economics, and Political Science. At Florida State he was a member of the presidential deans list, and the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society, while also earning a varsity letter in swimming. At St. Louis, he set school records in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 1,650-yard freestyle, and was an A-finalist at the Conference USA Championships in those races and also in the 400 I.M.
Steve lives in Eagle Rock with his wife Tjersti Webb, sons Steve III and Ayden and dog Charlea.
Steve has been involved with the sport of swimming for the past 27 years, and brings extensive knowledge of developing top level swimmers of all ages. He is very proud of the great reviews the Tiger Swim Academy received last summer. Steve looks to continue to grow the program, where they will work with swimmers as young as 1 up to age 18.
